photoFXlab Compatibility

PLEASE REVIEW THE FOLLOWING SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS BEFORE INSTALLING photoFXlab™. 

Once you've verified that your system meets the requirements for use, you can download photoFXlab here.

System Requirements:

photoFXlab™ has different compatibility requirements than other Topaz programs. An important difference is that the program will only run on systems with a graphics card that supports OpenGL 2.1 and above. We took advantage of this technology to improve the overall speed of adjustments within the program and give instant access when opening up Topaz plug-ins from within the interface.

If you are a Windows user, please download and run this small utility tool we developed to see if your graphics card supports OpenGL 2.1 and above: Download Now

If your graphics card does not support OpenGL 2.1 and above, your system will not run photoFXlab™ successfully. If you do not want to upgrade your graphics card at this time, please send a refund request to help@topazlabs.com and we will process that for you. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

If your graphics card does support OpenGL 2.1 and above, please update your graphics card to the latest driver available (this will help to eliminate error messages , so we HIGHLY recommend this step). Please locate the manufacturer of your card (Control Panel → System → Device Manager and look under Display Adapters), then click on the appropriate link below:

If you are using an ATI card, you can update your driver here.

If you are using a NVIDIA card, you can update your driver here.

If you are using an Intel card, you can update your driver here.

For Mac users, you will need an operating system of 10.6 or above.

Additional System Requirements

Windows

• Requires Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 (64-bit ONLY at this time for v1.1.  32-bit users, please see below)
• Requires at least 2 GB RAM. (more recommended)
• Graphics card should support OpenGL 2.1 technology and later (A better graphics card will increase performance even more so than a faster computer processor.)
• Compatible with Adobe Photoshop CS3-CS6 (64-bit ONLY at this time, 32-bit please see below), Photoshop Elements 6-10 (once the 32-bit v1.1 is released – please see below), PaintShop Pro, Photo Impact and Serif Photo Plus.
• Compatible with Lightroom 2-4

Mac

• Requires Intel-based Mac OS 10.6-10.8 (64-bit ONLY).  PowerPC processors like G4 or G5 are not supported.
• Requires at least 2 GB RAM. (more recommended)
• Graphics card should support OpenGL 2.1 technology and later (A better graphics card will increase performance even more so than a faster computer processor.)
• Compatible with Adobe Photoshop CS3-CS6, Photoshop Elements 6-10.
• Compatible with Aperture 2 and 3, iPhoto and Lightroom 2-4
